Task Week 5th to 11th April 2009
(Trophies Sponsored by Rothes Forest Estate)

Saturday 11th April - The last day of the task week and at last the weather gods looked favourably upon us and we had another day when tasks were set. The visiting tug went home first thing and the local tug was still grounded so all launching was on the winch. This didn't prevent us having an excellent day with thermals to 5,000 feet and wave above that with one pilot getting to 18,000 feet. See the table below for the tasks that were set today and the results. The results for the week are below that.

Friday 10th April - Another day lost to strong crosswinds.

Thursday 9th April - A very frustrating day, the sky was marked with obvious wave bars but the Robin tug we have visiting was unable to get the gliders off the ground in the crosswind and wet strip from the previous days rain.

Wednesday 8th April - Rain and low cloud until late afternoon, no flying.

Tuesday 7th April - Unable to launch due to the strong crosswind.

Monday 6th April - A promising forecast but on the day it wasn't so inspiring . The only points gained were for height.
