Another weekend of southeasterly wave brought all the toys out this weekend. Saturday was expected to be a sleepy day of light winds and circuit training, but some surprise wave led to several local soaring flights. Ross spent an hour and a half mastering his new syndicate Mosquito, Matthew completed his first Bronze soaring flight in the K21 and and other club stalwarts enjoyed some decent airtime as well. Sunday was predicted to be The Day for wave, and while it didn't quite live up to the hype, it proved to be a pretty good day for those who turned up, with strong wind (40kts at 1,000ft) and blue wave for added challenge. The K21 had two training flights of more than an hour each, while Adrian's Astir continued to rack up the hours soaring locally.

Some great achievements as well - Ian Tait claimed his Silver distance in the Silent by soaring to Feshie and back in blue wave, with the lowest groundspeed of 20kts on the outbound leg and a peak of 137kts on the return trip! Meanwhile, Neil completed his Bronze XC Navex in the Eurofox with Robert, so a big well done to him - it won't be long before he's nipping at Ian's heels. The day was rounded off by Sebastian soaring to over 8,000 ft in the K21 with Robert.

A great weekend overall, and proof that you don't have to visit far-flung airfields to find good soaring!
