Trial lessons can be booked from the beginning of March to the end of October, normally on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month but this may vary due to operational requirements. Bookings can be made online or by telephone using a voucher. If none of the dates we have available for booking are suitable we can offer a trial lesson on almost any weekend by special arrangement, even in the winter time. So if you have a voucher and we don't offer a suitable date for booking then contact us by and we will arrange your trial lesson as soon as possible. Please note that trial lessons by special arrangement are limited and have to be fitted in around club member training. If you would like to know the dates and

| 4th May 2012 - The aircraft we use for towing the gliders is unavailable for technical reasons. We are therefore temporarily offering 2 winch launches in place of an aerotow. At this point we cannot say with any certainty when an aircraft will be available although we are negotiating the delivery of a new one later in the year. The
Highland Gliding Club welcomes members of the public to try gliding with us.
Trial lessons enable us to introduce members of the public to the sport of
gliding and to our club. During your trial
lesson you will fly over the beautiful Moray
countryside with a qualified instructor in a two-seat glider from our airfield at Birnie,
3 miles south of Elgin. The trial lesson will normally consist of a
comprehensive pre-flight safety briefing, an aerotow to 2,000 feet and a flight
of 15 to 30 minutes duration. The instructor will demonstrate how the controls
work and there will be the opportunity to do some of the flying or just relax
and enjoy the bird's eye view of the local scenery.
